The Republican competition on health and safety “Students. Safety. Future” is aimed at forming a conscious and responsible attitude to safety issues in the student environment, popularizing a healthy lifestyle

The competition was organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, and took place on the premises of the affiliate “The Institute for Retraining and Professional Development” of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.

Students from over 20 universities participated in the qualifying round in May 2018. Teams from five regional universities, one university from Minsk, as well as from Salihorsk State Mining and Chemical College came through to the final. The capital city was represented by the students from Belarusian State Academy of Aviation.

The competitive program included testing the basic knowledge of health and safety, the ability to act in emergency situations and to provide first aid. At the training grounds the students competed in overcoming the obstacle course and eliminating fires, performed their “Security Hits” and participated in the video clips competition.

The team “BelGUT” from Belarusian State University of Transport (Gomel) became the winner of the Republican competition “Students. Safety. Future”. All the participants were awarded by the Minister of Education Igor Karpenko, the Minister of Health Valery Malashko and the Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Vashchenko. The students took part in a friendly conversation with the Ministers, during which they shared their thoughts about the competition and the student life. They also had the honor to deliver their innovative projects to the Ministers.
