The legendary sport trophy arrived in Minsk from Vienna as part of the 51-country tour that includes 91 cities. The Coca‑Cola system was the initiator of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour™ and made the Official Cup closer to millions of people, regardless of borders, nationality and social status.
The Official Cup is the most recognized sporting prize given to the winners of the world championship. It is made of pure gold and placed on a malachite base, where names of the countries - winners of the FIFA World Cup™ are engraved. In accordance with the existing rules of FIFA, only winners of the tournament and heads of state can touch the Official Cup, and the original trophy can not be transferred to the winning team forever. The Cup stays with the winner only until the next World Cup.
The Official Cup started its journey in Belarus from Independence Palace, where The President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demonstrated the Trophy to Belarusian football fans. Famous Belarusian football players, coaches and other famous sportsmen took part in the ceremony.
Before being presented to the public at the Falcon Club sports and entertainment complex, a press conference had been organized in the Falcon Club Boutique Cinema with participation of S.V. Safarian, First Deputy Chairman of the Football Federation of Belarus, A.P. Denisov, General Manager at Coca‑Cola Hellenic Belarus, N.P. Tarasevich, Franchise Manager Belarus at The Coca‑Cola Company, FIFA representative Lucas Rakhov and A.P. Hleb, a Belarusian professional footballer. S.V. Borovsky, an ex-coach of the national team of Belarus in football and the participant of the FIFA World Cup 1982 in the USSR national team was also among the guests of the event.
Over 40 accredited journalists were able to ask questions during the press conference.
After the press conference the famous Cup was displayed at the Falcon Club sports and entertainment complex in Minsk. Citizens of Belarus were able to visit the event and take amazing pictures with the Official Cup by participating in the advertising game “FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour” in the Korona trade network. The event was visited by over 6500 people.
The main accent of the event at the Falcon Club sports and entertainment complex was, of course, the FIFA World Cup itself. Moreover, various activities were organized for visitors of the event, including interactive entertainments, sport games, thematic photo zones, where visitors could get a printed photo with a legendary Cup, as well as the presentation of the mascot of the FIFA 2018 TM Zabivaka.
Football fans will remember this unique visit of the Official Cup to our country for a long time!
