Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus supported the Belarusian Red Cross Society Social Project EU4Youth

Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus as a representative of business community has become a partner of the international project “EU4Youth: Fostering potential for greater employability”.

The project aims at facilitating the development of vocational skills for decent employment opportunities. Its goal is to help the youth realize their potential, which is important for young people especially from remote regions of Belarus. The project started in October 2018 and will run until March, 2021. During the project young people from Gomel and Mogilev regions will be taught useful leadership and business skills. Experience sharing forums, career guidance seminars and job fairs will be helpful in searching for new contacts and creating joint ideas. 60 young men and women with their business ideas will be supported under the project. Twelve information centers in Mogilev and Gomel regions will be opened to assist young people in job search.

Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus shares the desire to support young people in their professional development. For the third year in a row, Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus implements a social educational project Business school “From idea to business” under the #YouthEmpowered international program realized by Coca‑Cola HBC Group in 28 countries. 1115 people were trained in the program in 2017-2018, 31 of them initiated their own business. A four-day training is held under mentoring of businessmen, professional coaches and speakers. The synergy between the #YouthEmpowered program and the EU4Youth project will secure new opportunities for the socially vulnerable youth.

Marina Borovko, Public Affairs and Communications Manager of Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus, attended a regular meeting of the Coordinating Council at the national level within the framework of the Belarusian Red Cross Society Social Project “EU4Youth: Fostering potential for greater employability”. Project goals and objectives, as well as partnership opportunities and planning matters for the year 2019 were discussed at the meeting.

The EU4Youth project is funded by the European Union and is implemented in Armenia, Georgia and Belarus. In our country the project is carried out by the Red Cross Society with the support of businesses, governmental bodies and NGOs. Apart from Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus, the project has been supported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Gomel and Mogilev regional and district executive committees, Youth Entrepreneurship Support and Development Centre NGO, Gender Perspectives NGO, Reliable Programs LLC.

 

The cooperation between the Belarusian Red Cross Society and Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus started in 2012 after signing of the agreement. Collaborative initiatives are aimed at solving social problems, assisting victims of emergency incidents, including victims of floods and hurricanes. In 2018 Coca‑Cola HBC Belarus provided the Belarusian Red Cross Society over 17,000 liters of non-carbonated still water to help citizens of Belarus during extreme heat conditions.
