The Republican Ecological Forum has become the country's largest platform for discussing key issues in developing "green" economy, a place where experts meet and share best practices and achievements in the field of environmental protection, rational use of natural resources. The Forum created a unique opportunity for a dialogue between the state, business, and the public on the topic of green growth in Belarus.
Andrei Roschupkin, First Deputy General Director, was the Enterprise’s speaker within the business program of the Forum. The participants of the breakout sessions were presented with the innovative ideas of the Coca-Cola System in the field of soft drinks packaging, a number of proposals for improving the waste management system, Coca-Cola's experience in restoring water resources, as well as recommendations for further development of the country's water resources, which can potentially become drivers for the national economy. The sessions were attended by representatives of international delegations from Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and France.
One of the highlights of the Forum's program was the results announcement of the environmental projects competition “Belarus Green Awards 2021”. The distinguished jury pre-reviewed 60 applications and selected 12 semi-finalists, 8 of which made it to the final based on the results of the popular vote. Marina Borovko, Public Affairs and Communications Manager, was the Enterprise’s representative on the jury during the final of the environmental project competition.
The first place and a cash prize of 20,000 BYN went to Vladislava Gench with the “Green Gench” project, dedicated to the creation of clothing and accessories from recycled materials in an endeavor to solve the problem of using textile waste. The second place and a cash prize of 15,000 BYN went to the project “Ulya Pchiolkina. Wax Eco-napkins ". The project’s creator presented reusable eco-napkins with beeswax designed for packaging and storing food, as an alternative to plastic wrap and plastic bags. The third place and a cash prize of 10,000 BYN was awarded to the project on engineering, design, and production of cardboard products - “Ministry of Cardboard”.
The forums were organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the National Exhibition Center “BelExpo”, and Minsk City Executive Committee. The environmental projects competition was organized by Eco-project "Pasternak".
