This year’s campaign was devoted to the Year of the Little Motherland and the restoration of forests damaged by mass spread of destructive insects.
The main goal of this campaign is to draw population’s and public organizations’ attention to the problems of the forest fund and to popularize gentle attitude to one of the most essential resources of our country.
The Unitary Enterprise “Coca‑Cola Beverages Belorussiya” annually supports the campaign and takes part in planting trees during the Forest week. This year the Enterprise employees combined their efforts together with the representatives of the State Forestry institution "Minsk Forestry" to plant pine and spruce near the village of Kaikovo, Minsk district.
This area suffered greatly during the hurricanes: twenty-meter high trees fell down, the earth was filled with a windbreak, the forest needed a restoration. Therefore, the Enterprise team responded to the call for help. Regular participants of corporate environmental campaigns and newcomers, who planted their first trees in life, were among the volunteers this year.
1,3 hectares (4,8 thousand items) of pine forest cultures were planted with the help of volunteers.
“Let us clean up the Little Motherland”
The ecological campaign “Let us clean up the Little Motherland” started on April, 14 in Stones Park, Uruche district. The main goal of the campaign — to contribute to the redevelopment of a district, a residential yard, the nearest park or a public garden, a reservoir, thereby preserving their beauty.
This territory was not chosen by chance. The map of Belarus is situated in the Stones Park. Boulders from different parts of our country are collected here. Therefore, the participants of the campaign — representatives of all regions of the Republic, living in Minsk, — could symbolically touch their Little Motherland, beautify and decorate it.
The employees of the Unitary Enterprise “Coca‑Cola Beverages Belorussiya” were happy to join the campaign during the voluntary Saturday work. The Enterprise volunteers together with Andrei Khudyk, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and Irina Dorofeeva, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, helped to clean up leaves and to plant birch-trees.
Public Affairs and Communications Department regularly informs employees about the environmental campaigns carried out and supported by the Enterprise, as well as about national and international environmental initiatives. Recognizing the importance of each person's personal contribution to improvement of the environment, many employees gladly take part in environmental campaigns.
